Training is free for Comal County residents and TNOYS members. Registration is $20 for attendees who are not Comal County residents or TNOYS members. Registration includes coffee, lunch and CEUs for social workers, LPCs and LCCAs. TNOYS will also be hosting a happy hour immediately following the training onsite to network and learn about TNOYS. We are excited to announce the date of our 33rd Annual TNOYS Conference on Services to Youth and Families as August 9-12th, 2016 at the Westin Galleria in Houston. The TNOYS staff and Board of Directors held a 2016 Winter Membership Meeting. The event agenda included a three-hour training on trauma informed-care implementation and the chance to consult and learn from other member organizations. It also included a presentation by guest speaker Texas Department of Family and Protective Services Commissioner John J. Specia.
Understanding Youth Rights Training
TNOYS organized and hosted a training to help providers and advocates better understand the rights of homeless youth. Approximately 40 people from state agencies, school districts, and youth services providers attended the half-day workshop, “Understanding Youth Rights: Helping providers navigate laws and policies affecting unaccompanied homeless youth.” Learn more here.
