The Texas Network of Youth Services (TNOYS) is pleased to announce that we have been awarded the 2010 Community Youth Development Teen Summit contract by the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS).
TNOYS is responsible for administration and fiscal oversight of the annual 3-day, 2-night event, planning and preparation, implementation, evaluation and close-out responsibilities for the CYD Teen Summit.
What: The Teen Summit is an annual event held for select participants of the DFPS CYD Program with a goal of developing leadership skills and attitudes as well as providing youth with an avenue to solve problems relevant to their communities.
Who attends: Each of the 15 CYD sites around the State of Texas will select a male and female adult chaperone to act as partners in learning with 6 eligible youth members from their local Youth Advisory Committee (YAC). The YAC Coordinator will serve as one of the chaperones.
The Teen Summit is collaborative in nature and provides opportunities for
youth and adults to provide input about the design, implementation and
evaluation of the event.
