Youth in Action Capitol Day

Youth in Action is a TNOYS program that provides teens with opportunities to learn about the policy making process and discover how they can influence decision-makers. Every two years, youth groups come together at the State Capitol to participate in the legislative process. More than 300 youth and adults, representing cities and regions from across the state, typically participate in Youth in Action Capitol Day.


Opening remarks – 9:00am-9:30am
Youth Presentation Practice 9:30am-11:30am
Lunch provided from 12:00pm- 1:00pm (Served on a come as you go basis.)
Youth Legislative Office Visits 1:00pm-4:00pm
Closing Remarks and Snacks – 4:00pm-4:30pm

All youth are free for this event! We do ask that the adult chaperones pay a fee of $10 each, to cover the cost of food. More payment information can be found in your Registration packet. RSVP with your intent to join us for the 2015 Youth in Action Capitol Day. Please only RSVP once per organization. Once you RSVP, you will receive a packet of information on how to register your group, permission slips for youth, We Want Change Advocacy Manual, and more. This RSVP is helpful to TNOYS to ensure that we have adequate space for the event. Please submit your best estimate. You will confirm attendee details later with your full event registration.
