LifeWorks operates the only 24-hour walk-in emergency shelter for youth in Travis County. Our “strengths-based” philosophy helps youth who have received consistently negative messages about themselves recognize and build on their strengths as they transition to safety.
LifeWorks operates three Youth & Family Resource Centers, in East, North, and South Austin, which house workforce development services, a mental health clinic, youth development programs and a program to support youth who are aging out of foster care.
This program serves as the national model for reconnecting and establishing a positive adult relationship with homeless youth. Street Outreach provides an array of services including drop-in center, weekly meals, healthcare and access to case managers and other support services.
LifeWorks provides safe and stable housing for youth and young families in its Transitional Living, Supportive Housing, and Rapid Re-Housing programs. Individual case management is offered with a focus on housing stability.
LifeWorks Counseling Division provides support for individuals and families who are struggling with issues such as family conflict, abuse, trauma, anxiety, depression, and the stress of everyday life. LifeWorks is one of the largest providers of affordable/free mental health counseling in our community.
