It has been a very busy month as the 84th Texas Legislative Session is in full swing. Since session began, TNOYS board members, staff and member agency representatives have attended hearings, testified before committees and visited legislative offices in support of youth services and programs. TNOYS is monitoring bill filing and tracking bills that could impact your agency and the youth you serve.

In order to keep you up-to-date on what’s happening at the Capitol, TNOYS is offering a weekly newsletter subscription with everything you need to know about session and how it will impact youth services.  To kick off this series, TNOYS will host a 45 minute legislative primer webinar on Wednesday, March 11th to get you up to speed thus far and give you the opportunity to ask questions and discuss what you are hearing in your community.  The webinar will be offered at two times: noon and 3:00pm. The webinar is free for members and is $25 for non-members.   Our newest TNOYS staff member, April Ferrino will be hosting the webinar along with Christine Gendron, our Executive Director (Read more about April’s extensive background in policy here.  Welcome, April!).

To subscribe to the weekly email subscription (to run through legislative session and finish with a recap report on the results of session), members can subscribe for $130 and non-members for $195.  With your subscription, you will receive access to the webinar and 13 weekly email briefings (1 per week for the next 13 weeks) with bill tracking and analysis, updates on the budget and Sunset processes, opportunities for engagement, and more!
