The Safe Haven Emergency Youth Shelter provides short-term shelter for homeless and runaway youth ages 10-17. Through intensive individual, group and family counseling the shelter’s program strives to reunite families whenever possible, prevent future problems and stabilize the lives of young people to keep them safe.
The STAR Program provides individual, family and group counseling that helps youth and their families recognize and use their strengths to address goals that are solution focused. The STAR Program offers skills-based training groups for youth to address such issues as improving self-esteem, anger management, developing positive friendships, resisting negative peer pressure, making good choices, and developing coping skills. The program also offers parenting classes to help parents develop skills in communication, limit setting and behavior management.
