About the Summit

 Save the Date! The Texas Education Agency (TEA) 2021 Texas Education for Homeless Children and Youth (TEHCY) Program Summit takes place Tuesday, August 3rd, and Thursday, August 5th, 2021. This year’s summit is once again being held virtually. TNOYS is pleased to continue its partnership with the Texas Education Agency (TEA) to develop and host the event.

Led by the theme The Road to Impact, Texas’ education professionals will explore how they can support students experiencing homelessness as they chart their path to success. The event will encourage attendees to draw on their perspectives and expertise as they build skills, forge partnerships, and learn strategies to ultimately make a difference in the lives of students experiencing homelessness.

Call for Proposals Is Now Open

Interested in presenting at this year’s summit? The call for proposals is now open! 

The 2021 TEHCY Program Summit convenes education professionals and those who work in youth and family services, including TEHCY subgrantees, ESC staff, McKinney-Vento liaisons, counselors, social workers, school and district administrators, dropout recovery, Special Education, Gifted and Talented, Career and Technical Education, English Learners, and Migrant, program staff.

About the 2020 TEHCY Program Summit

Last year’s TEHCY program summit took place virtually and convened over 1,150 stakeholders from across 385 school districts

Led by the theme Spotlight on Resilience, attendees enjoyed engaging and interactive sessions, workshops, and activities that encouraged them to tap into their own resilience and that of the children and youth they serve. Check out the links below to learn more about last year’s event:
