TNOYS Honors the Memory of Vicki Barron

It is with great sadness that we share the news that Vicki Barron, the Executive Director of K’STAR, in Kerrville, Texas, passed away on April 4, 2015. Vicki was the Executive Director of K’STAR for more than 24 years and shVicki (1)e was a long-time member of TNOYS. Vicki helped to improve the lives of thousands of young people through her leadership at K’STAR. She also worked to strengthen services for children and youth in crisis through her participation in the TNOYS Emergency Shelter Task Force.

Vicki was born in Salt Lake City, UT, on April 30, 1948. She graduated from Latter Day Saints Business College in Salt Lake City and married her husband, Philip S. Barron, in Fredericksburg, Texas. She was involved in the Historical Society and dedicated to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. In addition to her work at K’STAR, Vicki served as the President of the Relief Society, the Librarian and taught Sunday School.

Vicki is survived by her mother, Melba, her son, Chris Bopp, her step-daughter, Jennifer Schandua and spouse Peter, and her step-son, Stuart Barron and spouse, Dawn, all of Fredericksburg. She leaves behind six grandchildren. A memorial service was held on April 15 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
